3M™ PTFE Film Tape 5491 is manufactured using polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) film extrusion technology with a very low coefficient of friction combined with a pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive to create a smooth, non-stick adhesive surface on many substrates to support the movement of roller application materials.

3M™ PTFE Tape 5491 is a thicker version of the 5490 tape. It is a tape that provides greater strength and resistance to twisting after unrolling. After application, the tape has a flatter surface than conventional PTFE tapes, creating a more uniform non-slip surface. The tape provides a non-stick surface between surfaces where temperature and pressure changes can create adhesion.
